Helping Cope with the COVID Crisis

COVID RESPONSE

In 2020, Con Corazón raised over $20,000 from over 50 donors to fund a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Projects supported the nearly 5,000 citizens of Arcatao and Nueva Trinidad as they coped with COVID and dealt with disruptions to everyday life.

Donations did the the following:

  • Purchased, administered, and distributed prescription medicine to the elderly and those most in need.

  • Established an emergency health care fund for the communities.

  • Purchased and distributed groceries to the elderly and those most in need.

  • Subsidized the delivery of fruits, vegetables, grains, and other food, with a focus on hard-to-reach communities.

  • Provided WiFi access to allow university and grade school students to continue their educations online.

  • Funded community radio programming that raised awareness of COVID-19 prevention and treatment.

  • Purchased two printers for teachers to print course materials for students without access to the internet.
