Helping Cope with the COVID Crisis
COVID RESPONSE
In 2020, Con Corazón raised over $20,000 from over 50 donors to fund a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Projects supported the nearly 5,000 citizens of Arcatao and Nueva Trinidad as they coped with COVID and dealt with disruptions to everyday life.
Donations did the the following:
Provided masks, antibacterial hand gel, and hand soap to the communities.
Purchased, administered, and distributed prescription medicine to the elderly and those most in need.
Established an emergency health care fund for the communities.
Purchased and distributed groceries to the elderly and those most in need.
Subsidized the delivery of fruits, vegetables, grains, and other food, with a focus on hard-to-reach communities.
Provided WiFi access to allow university and grade school students to continue their educations online.
Funded community radio programming that raised awareness of COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
Purchased two printers for teachers to print course materials for students without access to the internet.
